New Earswick All Blacks ARLFC are pleased to announce the appointment of former Huddersfield Giants Fullback Paul Meillam as Head Coach of the Men’s first team that will compete in the Yorkshire men’s league division 3 in 2025.

Director of Rugby Andrew Henderson was pleased with the decision to bring Paul to the club. “We spoke to several coaches who expressed interest in the position, but felt Paul was the right fit for us. Being local and having a connection to the club was important to us with Paul being a former junior player with the All Blacks. It was clear after speaking to Paul that he had passion for the club and a desire to coach. The fact he has professional experience as a player and worked under some good coaches during his career, will help Paul lift and drive the standards within the first team environment to help the team progress.

Paul’s values, philosophy and style of play aligns with the clubs, and I believe he has the right temperament to be a successful coach here at New Earswick. We are delighted to have Paul on board, and we all look forward to supporting him take the team forward.”

Head Coach Paul Meillam was delighted to be offered the job, “It’s a fresh start for the club and the first team, but an exciting time to be part of the All Blacks. The club has some big plans to develop our facilities at the sports club which will only help us going forward, but they also share an ambition to progress. I am excited about the challenge and look forward to playing my part in leading the team and helping the club fulfil their aspirations.”

“Pre-season is soon upon us, and I look forward to meeting the boys and getting to work with them. We will focus on all areas to prepare us for the season ahead but look at making some small changes to help us play the way I want us to play”.

The All Blacks are looking to make progress this season both on and off the field with decent numbers already expressing an interest to play and pre-season officially starting early January. For more details and information on joining the All Blacks, contact neallblacks@gmail.com.
