YM Premier League: NEAB v East Hull ARLFC

Saturday 7th May -

Published: 8 May, 2022 - 11:24 pm

After a few weeks away, New Earswick played East Hull back at White Rose Avenue, on a sunny and warm afternoon. The All Black’s focus this week was on a strong and controlled start to the game, and to improve on recent poor completion rates. And they certainly did that, taking the game to Hull with some tidy, well organised play and strong defensive sets.   The All Black’s seemed more intent on building pressure and playing for field position, which paid off when hooker Conor Iddon opened the scoring from close range.New Earswick continued in the same vein and... ...Read The Article

YML Cup: Sharlston Rovers v New Earswick All Blacks

Saturday 30th April -

Published: 3 May, 2022 - 12:31 am

Brett Delaney’s men had a break from the YML Premier division this week, with a YML Challenge Cup game against Division 1 leaders Sharlston Rovers. Sharlston put out a big physical squad, on a small sized pitch but it was the away team who started the better, using their pace and ball handling ability to go over first after an accurately placed kick into the dead ball area by Liam Gargan was pounced on unchallenged by second row Joe Stearman. Stearman turning back the clock with another fantastic performance. After more strong defensive work by New Earswick, and more slick... ...Read The Article

NEAB U15’s v Dearne Valley Bulldogs

Sunday 10th April -

Published: 11 April, 2022 - 7:49 pm

A home game for the u15’s this weekend, playing Dearne Valley Bulldogs. Both teams having played 1 and won 1 and both teams have been moved down a division.   All Blacks came out of the blocks firing, forcing a knock on in the first set. From the turn over All Blacks took a very early lead through Isaac Lowson powering over from acting half. Conversion missed.   The game then became frantic with both teams struggling to complete sets. All Blacks did manage to complete a set which ended in a try from Alfie Lindsey near the corner. Conversion... ...Read The Article

East Leeds v NEAB U15’s

Sunday 3rd April -

Published: 3 April, 2022 - 8:21 pm

Our first game since we’ve moved division. New Earswick started the game well, completing their first 3 sets and defending well. Leading the way in defence were Alfie Lindsey, Seth Jacob’s and Eli Drury. The first try came at the end of another good set, Alfie Lindsey breaking the line to score. Elliot Seymour added the goal.   Not much between the teams up to half time, with the All Blacks going into the break 6-0 up.   The start to the second half again was strong from both teams with defences on top. That was until Isaac Lowson powered... ...Read The Article

NEAB v Westgate Common

Saturday 2nd April -

Published: 3 April, 2022 - 12:10 pm

Billed as the match of the round, this game didn’t quite live up to the hype. After having two influential All Black’s players pulling out on the day of the game, the home side were forced into a last minute reshuffle, bringing in Josh Prenty and Harrison Cottam. Cottam making his first team debut after only starting playing rugby league last season. After talk of a fast start before the match, the All Black’s mindset seemed to still be in the changing rooms for the first 10 mins, finding themselves 12-0 down after some quick, slick play from Westgate. Once... ...Read The Article

Nottingham Outlaws v NEAB – 12/03/2022

Saturday 12th March -

Published: 20 March, 2022 - 2:50 pm

Brett Delaney’s men finally got their season underway with anaway trip to Nottingham Outlaws. With all intentions of starting strong, the All Black’s found themselves on the back foot from the kick off, having to defend six sets back to back on their own line. Eventually, the home side managed to break the All Blacks resolve and get across the line, but failed to convert the extras. New Earswick began to settle down and put their game plan into practice, with a strong showing from the pack, and well timed substitutions, they started to show their dominance. With some eye... ...Read The Article

NEAB v Brighouse Rangers – 19/03/2022

Saturday 19th March -

Published: 20 March, 2022 - 2:43 pm

After a stop start week with players away and a number of players falling ill, our first home game of the season went ahead against Brighouse Rangers.  At the insistence of the opposition to play this game, the All Black’s boys used this as motivation to come out firing on all cylinders, and went into an early 14-0 lead with tries from Liam Gargan, Dan Atkinson and Jack Stearman. This seemed to shock Brighouse into playing some good rugby, and they fought back to make it 18 all at half time, after a further New Earswick try from captain, and... ...Read The Article
