New Earswick All Blacks beat a youthful Birkenshaw Bluedogs Academy 26-18 on a hot day in a competitive game this weekend. In the first half poor attacking structure was the theme for the All Blacks but they were able to keep competing with the Bluedogs side with strong defence, a feature of the New Earswick side this season.   A well controlled kicking game in combination with some errors by the All Blacks left the side under pressure across the first half and Birkenshaw moved the ball well scoring two tries out wide, but two tries from Will Holmes kept... ...Read The Article

Blossom Prangnell lead the team, with her attacking play coming into its own today along with her excellent tackling game. The open age returned to action this weekend with the visit of the Nottingham Outlaws. The home side started strongly with some great attacking play and some solid defensive efforts. Saturday 7th May -

Published: 8 May, 2022 - 11:24 pm

After a few weeks away, New Earswick played East Hull back at White Rose Avenue, on a sunny and warm afternoon. The All Black’s focus this week was on a strong and controlled start to the game, and to improve on recent poor completion rates. And they certainly did that, taking the game to Hull with some tidy, well organised play and strong defensive sets.   The All Black’s seemed more intent on building pressure and playing for field position, which paid off when hooker Conor Iddon opened the scoring from close range.New Earswick continued in the same vein and... ...Read The Article

Saturday 30th April -

Published: 3 May, 2022 - 12:31 am

Brett Delaney’s men had a break from the YML Premier division this week, with a YML Challenge Cup game against Division 1 leaders Sharlston Rovers. Sharlston put out a big physical squad, on a small sized pitch but it was the away team who started the better, using their pace and ball handling ability to go over first after an accurately placed kick into the dead ball area by Liam Gargan was pounced on unchallenged by second row Joe Stearman. Stearman turning back the clock with another fantastic performance. After more strong defensive work by New Earswick, and more slick... ...Read The Article

Our first game since we’ve moved division. New Earswick started the game well, completing their first 3 sets and defending well. Leading the way in defence were Alfie Lindsey, Seth Jacob’s and Eli Drury. The first try came at the end of another good set, Alfie Lindsey breaking the line to score. NEAB v Westgate Common

Saturday 2nd April -

Published: 3 April, 2022 - 12:10 pm

Billed as the match of the round, this game didn’t quite live up to the hype. After having two influential All Black’s players pulling out on the day of the game, the home side were forced into a last minute reshuffle, bringing in Josh Prenty and Harrison Cottam. Cottam making his first team debut after only starting playing rugby league last season. After talk of a fast start before the match, the All Black’s mindset seemed to still be in the changing rooms for the first 10 mins, finding themselves 12-0 down after some quick, slick play from Westgate. Once... ...Read The Article
